Disclosure Quantity (DQ) for Intraday Trades
The Disclosure Quantity feature allows traders to partially hide their actual order quantity from the market order book. Only a specified disclosed quantity is visible at any given time, while the remaining quantity is executed silently in the background.
This helps intraday traders place large orders without impacting market price or revealing their full trading intent.
Intraday traders placing large quantity orders often face:
Price slippage due to market reaction
Front-running by other traders
Reduced execution efficiency
Full quantity visibility in the order book exposes trading strategy and negatively affects execution quality.
Introduce a Disclosure Quantity option while placing intraday orders.
The trader specifies:
Total Order Quantity
Disclosed Quantity (visible to the market)
Only the disclosed quantity appears in the order book. Once it is executed, the next portion is automatically disclosed until the full order is completed.
User selects Intraday (MIS) order type
Enters Total Quantity
Enables Disclosure Quantity toggle
Enters Disclosed Quantity (must be less than total quantity)
Order executes in multiple cycles until total quantity is filled
Total Quantity: 10,000 shares
Disclosed Quantity: 1,000 shares
Only 1,000 shares are visible at a time. After execution, the next 1,000 shares are disclosed automatically.
